Ellen Marie Moysons was born in 1994 and grew up in Kampenhout, Belgium.
Initially aspiring to become a writer, at the age of 14 she came in touch with Belgian artist Kaat Tilley, who inspired her to take up drawing and painting.
From 2013-2014 Ellen Marie studied Fine Arts at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, and continued her education at the prestigious Barcelona Academy of Art where drawing, painting and sculpture are taught according to traditional Renaissance principles. She graduated from the ghostwriting masterarbeit in 2017 and was thereupon recruited as a teacher at the academy. In 2019 Ellen Marie had her first solo exhibition in her home country and has been exhibiting her work internationally ever since.
The artist is currently living and working in Kampenhout, close to Brussels.

Ellen Marie reserves three exclusive time slots each month for commissioned portraits. These sessions can take place in her cozy studio, or she can come to your home to truly capture your unique atmosphere and personality.
The process begins with a personal consultation, where you’ll choose the size, style, and feeling you’d like in your portrait. Next comes a posing session—often at your own home to ensure comfort and authenticity. Ellen will create initial sketches or take photos to work from later in her studio.
Once the painting begins, Ellen keeps you updated with photos and progress reports. She also welcomes your feedback to ensure the final piece reflects your vision.
The unveiling is a special moment—usually in her studio, but she’s happy to deliver it to you as well. And after a year, she’ll apply a final protective varnish to your portrait, adding a beautiful finish that lasts.
